The problem
Running apps invent things. A recovery score with no visible inputs. A "readiness" number that appears from nowhere. An AI summary that sounds confident about data it doesn't have. You can't tell which numbers are measured and which are guessed — so you can't trust any of them.
Closed apps are a black box. Conversational AI coaches blind. RunMode has your real data and explains every decision — and you can check the maths.
What it does
Readiness you can take apart
A daily readiness score built from real training load, resting heart rate, sleep, and anything you've logged — anchored to the race you're training for. Tap it and it breaks into the real terms that produced it. Not good enough data? It shows "—", not a confident guess.
Pacing that accounts for the weather
Race-day forecast — temperature, humidity, dew point — turned into an honest pace range for the conditions. A range, never a false-precision target.
Session forensics
Per-run analysis: real elevation, pace splits, heart-rate zones, route with segment detail, personal bests, your own notes. All from your data, explained in plain language.
Race prep, end to end
Event setup with a goal estimate derived from your own recent runs, fuel guidance, course import. No generic plan — the numbers come from you.
See it in the app
Real screens from the build running on the founder's own phone right now — not mockups.
Today's overview — readiness, weekly training balance, and your last run, one glance.
Tap the score and it opens up: sleep, training load, and symptoms, shown separately, not blended into a mystery number.
Every run broken down after the fact — pace zones, personal bests, and the actual conditions you ran in.
Longer-term trends — VO2 max, resting heart rate, cardio fitness over time.
Where it's at
Pre-launch. Nothing here is inflated to sound further along than it is.
- Built and in active development by a solo founder, tested daily on his own real running data.
- Currently in private testing on the founder's own device via TestFlight.
- Health data used by the AI coach is sent to Google's Gemini API to generate responses — that's the one thing that leaves your device, and it's stated here plainly rather than glossed over.
- Opening to outside runners once a small number of privacy and store-compliance items are finished.
